Grandfather's Clock

Grandfather's Clock is a patience, or solitaire, card game played with a standard deck of fifty-two playing cards. Its layout and foundation structure are closely related to the game Clock Patience, but unlike that purely luck-based game, Grandfather's Clock rewards careful play: a skilled player who thinks ahead about which of several identical cards to release, when a choice exists, can win roughly three games out of every four, compared with the much lower win rate of chance-only variants. This strategic element, layered onto a simple twelve-pile clock-face layout, has made the game a durable favorite among solitaire players who want more decision-making than typical luck-driven patience games provide.
