Four Corners (patience)

Four Corners, also known by the names Les Quatre Coins, Cornerstones and Corner Patience, is a solitaire card game played with two decks of playing cards. It takes its name from the four corner piles that anchor its tableau, from which the player builds outward. As in many patience games, foundation piles are built by suit, the piles founded on aces built upward in sequence and the piles founded on kings built downward, and only certain cards in specific positions within the layout are free to be moved onto them. The version most commonly described is the one recorded in two long-standing reference works on solitaire, Peter Arnold's Card Games for One and Albert Morehead and Geoffrey Mott-Smith's The Complete Book of Solitaire and Patience Games, and it is from those descriptions that the game's standard rules and layout are drawn.
