Casket (solitaire)

Casket is a moderately easy solitaire card game played with two decks, in which the objective is to move all the cards to the foundations. The layout is built around its namesake image: eight tableau piles form the casket itself, topped by five reserve piles called the lid, with thirteen face-down cards representing jewels beneath. Eight foundations on one side of the layout build upward in suit from ace to king, while a stock and waste pile occupy the other side. Play begins by clearing the lid piles to gain access to the jewels underneath. Cards from the reserve piles may be moved either to the tableau or directly to the foundations, and the tableau itself builds downward in suit. The stock automatically refills any empty tableau spaces, and any card that cannot be placed goes to the waste pile. The game allows no redeals, which keeps the difficulty from the two-deck jewel layout genuinely testing rather than forgiving.
