Matching and Shedding Card Games

Uno is a commercial shedding-type card game in which players race to empty their hand by matching the color or number of the card on top of a discard pile, using special action cards to skip, reverse or force opponents to draw extra cards. The game was created in 1971 by Merle Robbins in Reading, Ohio, and was later purchased and mass-marketed by a games company that became part of Mattel. It is now published worldwide in numerous themed and rule-variant editions.
