Russian bank (card game)

Matching and Shedding Card Games

Russian bank, also called crapette or tunj and historically known as the wrangle, is a competitive patience-family card game for two players using two full decks of fifty-two standard playing cards. Each player works to be the first to get rid of forty-eight cards from their own stock and hand by building ace-through-king suit piles in the center of the shared playing area, while also maintaining their own side piles under specific placement rules. If a player breaks one of those placement rules, their opponent may interrupt play by calling out Stop, Tunj or Crapette to end the turn immediately and claim an advantage. The United States Playing Card Company first published a formal set of rules for the game in 1898, at which point it praised the game as probably the best two-player card game ever invented, and the game is known by different regional names, including crapette in France, Brazil and Portugal and tunj across parts of the Middle East.
