Four color cards

Four color cards, known in Chinese as Si Se Pai, is a card game of the rummy family with a long history in southern China. It is traditionally played with a special 112 card deck styled after Chinese chess pieces rather than a standard Western deck, divided among four suits representing the chess ranks. The classic form is played by four players seated around the table, though variations exist for two or three players using a standard deck adapted to the same rules. Play proceeds anticlockwise, with a typical game lasting about twenty minutes. Like other rummy family games the emphasis is on memory and counting rather than pure chance, as players collect and discard cards to complete sets while tracking what opponents have already shown or discarded.
