All Ice Skating Sports

Sports performed on skates on a sheet of ice, in which the athlete is judged on artistry and technical elements or raced against the clock. Figure skating, with its jumps, spins and choreography scored by a panel, and speed skating, decided purely by the fastest time over a set distance, are the two main branches recognised by the International Skating Union. Ice hockey is also played on skates but is a team ball and puck game and is kept with the hockey codes instead.
