The World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, often shortened to WoW TCG, is an out-of-print collectible card game based on Blizzard Entertainment's online role-playing game World of Warcraft. Upper Deck Entertainment announced it in August 2005 and released it on 25 October 2006. Each player takes the part of a hero and builds a deck of allies and supporting cards such as weapons, abilities, armor, items and quests, and players can duel one on one or team up to defeat dungeon and raid bosses drawn from the online game. Upper Deck lost the license in March 2010 and Cryptozoic Entertainment acquired it, then Blizzard announced in August 2013 that the card game would be discontinued, and it released Hearthstone in March 2014.
