Destruction of Army Group Center

Modern Conquest and War Games

Destruction of Army Group Center, subtitled The Soviet Summer Offensive, 1944 and often shortened to DAGC, is a board wargame published by Simulations Publications Inc. (SPI) in 1973. It simulates Operation Bagration, the June 1944 Soviet offensive that shattered the German line. Designed by Jim Dunnigan with graphic design by Redmond A. Simonsen, it is a two-player game on a hex grid map at 16 km per hex with 200 die-cut counters, using alternating I Go, You Go turns and asymmetrical supply rules. It offers a historical scenario and three what-if scenarios in which the Germans withdraw, and victory depends on the number of enemy units destroyed. Reviewers generally found it predictable and unbalanced in favour of the Soviets, and Decision Games published a second edition in 2009.
