Battles of Westeros

Modern Conquest and War Games

Battles of Westeros is a 2010 strategic wargame set in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire universe, designed by Robert A. Kouba and published by Fantasy Flight Games. Two players command House Stark and House Lannister armies across the battlefields of Martin's fantasy world, deploying blocks of troops, commanders and named characters from the novels using a command-card system that governs movement and combat order each round. The game translates the political and military conflict of the War of the Five Kings storyline into a tabletop wargame, giving fans of the novels and the parallel television adaptation a competitive strategy game built directly on the series' geography, houses and leading figures rather than an abstract fantasy setting.
