Space Fleet

Modern Conquest and War Games

Space Fleet is a board game for two to four players, published in 1991 by Games Workshop and designed by Jervis Johnson and Andy Jones. It is set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe and centres on combat between spacecraft, and can be seen as a fore-runner to Battlefleet Gothic. Each player has a combat display showing the four fire arcs of a ship, with shield tokens spread across the arcs and damage tokens at the centre. Movement is chosen secretly from a helm computer chart and resolved simultaneously, and ships ending in the same square are treated as ramming. Damage is worked out by dropping six-sided dice into the box lid, which is divided into a three by three grid. The winner is the player who destroys their opponents first.
