Snap is a card game in which players deal out the cards and then react as quickly as they can to spot pairs of cards of the same rank. The cards are either dealt into separate piles around the table, one for each player, or, particularly when the game is played with young children, into a single shared pile. The game may be a simplified version of the older game Snip Snap Snorem. Its play depends on quick reactions rather than deep strategy, since the whole task is to notice a matching rank before the other players do.
