Sette e mezzo, Italian for seven and a half and known in Spanish as siete y media, is an Italian comparing card game similar to blackjack. It is traditionally played in Italy during the Christmas holidays and is also known in English as seven and a half. It is played with a 40-card deck, a standard deck with the eights, nines and tens removed, in which the cards from ace to seven count their pip value and face cards count half a point each. Players compete against the dealer rather than each other, and the aim is to beat the dealer by reaching a total as close as possible to seven and a half without going over it. Variants include a wild card and special payouts for a natural seven and a half.
