Rummikub is a proprietary tile-based board game developed and marketed by Ephraim Hertzano in the 1950s for two to four players, blending ideas from the card game rummy with the tiles of mahjong. The set holds 106 tiles: 104 numbered tiles running from 1 to 13 in four colors, two copies of each, plus two jokers. Each player starts with 14 tiles on a rack and takes turns laying tiles down as sets of at least three, either groups or runs, or draws a tile when no play is possible. Turns are timed at one or two minutes. A distinctive feature is that tiles already on the table may be rearranged and reused. In the widely played Sabra version, the first player to empty their rack scores the total of the opponents hands while the losers score negatively.
