London Cabbie, also published as The London Cabbie Game and Cabbie, is a board game designed by David Drakes and first published by Intellect Games in 1971. Players drive taxicabs across a map of the major streets of central London that marks one-way and two-way roads and simulates traffic jams. On a turn a player moves a taxi token by spending up to 20 movement points, may later acquire a second taxi that shares those points, and cannot pass through other cabs, which can block one-way streets. Passengers are taken from five face-up cards; the player then draws a destination card and delivers the passenger, is paid a fare read from a chart on the board according to the distance of the journey, and draws a tip card. Each taxi carries one passenger at a time. The winner is whoever has earned the most money when a time limit agreed by the players runs out. Reviewers praised the board design and quality, and a copy is on display at the Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising.
