Kill Doctor Lucky is a humorous board game designed by James Ernest and released in 1996 by Cheapass Games. It turns the premise of the classic mansion murder mystery inside out: where Cluedo begins after the crime and asks players to solve it, this game ends with the crime and asks players to commit it. The board is the floor plan of Doctor Lucky's mansion, and a deck of cards supplies weapons, failure cards and other opportunities. Players move through the rooms collecting cards while Doctor Lucky wanders along a fixed path, and a murder attempt is only possible when the player is alone with him, out of sight of everyone else. Opponents may spend failure cards to foil the attempt, so bluffing about the contents of your hand is central. It won the Origins Award for Best Abstract Board Game of 1997 and later gained expansions, a card game spin-off and a 19.5th Anniversary Edition.
