Dixit (board game)

Deduction and Guessing Games

Dixit is a French board game created by Jean-Louis Roubira, illustrated by Marie Cardouat and published by Libellud. It was introduced in 2008. The game is played with a set of cards printed with dreamlike images. One player acts as the storyteller and offers a title that fits one of the cards in their hand. The other players then choose cards from their own hands that match that title, and everyone tries to guess which card the storyteller had in mind. The design rewards clues that are suggestive without being too obvious or too obscure. Dixit won the 2010 Spiel des Jahres award, the German game of the year prize.
