Brass (board game)

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Brass is a board game set in Lancashire, England, during the Industrial Revolution, developed by Martin Wallace and published in 2007 by Warfrog Games, later renamed Treefrog Games. Players score victory points by building mines, cotton factories, ports, canals and rail links and by establishing trade routes. The game is played over two historical periods, the canal period and the rail period, with points scored at the end of each. It supports two to four players, with a playing time of one to two hours and a suggested age of fourteen and up. Wallace followed it with a streamlined version, Age of Industry, and Roxley Games reprinted it in 2018 as Brass: Lancashire alongside a successor, Brass: Birmingham, which reached first place on BoardGameGeek in 2023.
