BattleSpace

Modern Conquest and War Games

BattleSpace is a science fiction naval wargame set in the BattleTech universe, published by FASA Corporation in 1993, nine years after FASA established the BattleTech franchise. Designed principally by Chris Hartford, with additional contributions from L. Ross Babcock III, Sam Lewis, Jordan Weisman and Clare Hess, the game simulates space-naval combat between the large warships of the BattleTech setting rather than the franchise's better-known BattleMech infantry battles, giving players a strategic, fleet-level view of the same fictional universe. Cover art was produced by Peter Scanlon and Mike Neilsen. The game was also released internationally through the French publisher Descartes Editeur and, in a later edition, through Fanpro, reflecting FASA's practice of licensing its BattleTech line to overseas partners.
