Bastra, also written Basra, is a fishing card game similar to cassino and popular in Cyprus. It is also popular in Egypt, Lebanon and other Middle Eastern countries. The name is a Greek borrowing from the Arabic word Basra. The Turkish games pisti and pispirik are described as a particular evolution of Basra. The English Wikipedia lead supports the game type, the regions where it is played, the origin of the name and its relation to the Turkish games, and nothing more specific about its rules.
