Axis & Allies Miniatures

Modern Conquest and War Games

Axis & Allies Miniatures is a tactical collectible miniatures game released in 2005 in which two or more players fight squad-level battles of the Second World War using pre-painted 15mm figures of tanks, infantry, artillery and aircraft. It was designed by Aaron Forsythe, Devin Low, Jonathan Tweet, Paul Barclay and Richard Baker and published by Avalon Hill and Wizards of the Coast. Players can replay historical engagements or assemble their own forces for custom battles, and the catalogue entry credits it with campaign and battle card driven play, dice rolling and open drafting of forces. A typical game takes about an hour, and the recommended age is 10 and up. It sits alongside the larger Axis & Allies strategy board game as a separate product: where that game covers whole theatres of the war, this one resolves individual skirmishes on a battlefield map, and it can also be played in longer campaigns across the European theatre.
