Spirit Island is a cooperative board game for one to four players, designed by R. Eric Reuss and dated 2017 on its Board Game Matcher page. Instead of taking strict turns, players secretly choose power cards face down and reveal them together, so the group has to coordinate a shared defense of the island without simply talking it through. Colonizing invaders advance through a repeating cycle of exploring, building and ravaging, and frightening them speeds that cycle up. Players unlock further power cards over time and start out struggling to survive before growing strong enough to reshape the terrain. The page lists mechanics such as hand management, simultaneous action selection, modular board, variable player powers and area majority, notes that solo play works well, and gives a play time of about 120 minutes.
