Matching and Shedding Card Games

Switch is a shedding-type card game for two or more players, popular in the United Kingdom and Ireland and played elsewhere under other names, including Two Four Jacks, Black Jack and, in New Zealand, Last Card. Each player tries to be the first to get rid of every card in hand. A card may be played if it matches the suit or rank of the card showing on the discard pile, and a player who cannot or will not play draws from the pool. Power cards such as the ace and the two change the suit or force the next player to draw cards, and a player down to a single card must say last card aloud or draw two cards as a penalty. It is a variant of Crazy Eights and belongs to the same family as Uno, Mau Mau and Whot.
