Castle Ravenloft (board game)

Board game

Castle Ravenloft is a cooperative board game published by Wizards of the Coast in 2010 as the first release in the Dungeons and Dragons Adventure System line of board games. It is designed for one to five players, each choosing a hero such as the Dragonborn Fighter, Human Rogue, Dwarf Cleric, Eladrin Wizard or Human Ranger, and the players work together against the game itself to complete a series of quests set in the Dungeons and Dragons location of Barovia rather than competing against one another. The box supplies forty plastic miniature figures, thirteen interlocking dungeon tile sheets that are assembled differently for each scenario, roughly two hundred cards, a rulebook, a scenario book and a twenty-sided die, and reviewers described it as delivering a dungeon-crawling experience close to fourth-edition Dungeons and Dragons without requiring a dungeon master or most of that game's rules overhead.
