Bunco

Games of Chance

Bunco, also spelled bunko, bonko or buncko, is a dice game for twelve or more players. The players are divided into groups of four and take turns rolling three dice, trying to score points over a series of six rounds. The game takes its name from its best result: a bunco is achieved when a person rolls three of a kind and all three numbers match the round number, which is decided at the beginning of that round. Because every roll is judged against the number of the current round, the same three dice can score very differently from one round to the next. The requirement of twelve or more players split into groups of four makes it a game for a crowd rather than for a pair of opponents.
