Ticket to Ride: Europe

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Ticket to Ride: Europe is a railway-building board game for two to five players, designed by Alan R. Moon and dated 2005 by its Board Game Matcher listing. Players collect sets of matching cards to claim rail lines between cities on a map of Europe, and score by connecting the cities named on their secret destination tickets. This version adds three twists to the ticket-and-route formula: tunnels, where blind card flips may force a player to pay extra cards, ferries that require locomotive cards, and stations that let a player borrow an opponent's route at a cost in points. Tickets left uncompleted at the end subtract points, and end-game bonuses add to the totals. A game takes about an hour, is aimed at ages eight and up, and is rated light in complexity.
