Northern Crown (roleplaying game)

Role-Playing Games

Northern Crown is a d20 System role-playing game of alternate history and fantasy, set in a magical version of seventeenth-century North America. It draws on European and American legend and lore as well as elements common to Dungeons and Dragons style fantasy worlds, and is inspired by the real world more than directly based on it. Non-player characters are modelled on figures from North American history, with later figures appearing under revised names, the best known being Benjamin Franklin as Chiron Franklyn. Atlas Games had stopped publishing its d20 lines in 2004 but liked the setting enough to publish it in 2005. The setting is detailed in two hardcovers, New World Adventures, which is the only book required for play and has character creation and advancement rules, and the Gazetteer, which expands the world with non-player characters, monsters, inventions and magic items.
