Geist: The Sin-Eaters

Role-Playing Games

Geist: The Sin-Eaters is a tabletop role-playing game and setting from White Wolf Game Studio, part of its Chronicles of Darkness line and released in August 2009. Players portray Sin-Eaters, people who died and came back to life bound to a Geist, a spirit that was once a ghost and now embodies an aspect of death. The Sin-Eater stays in control while the Geist accompanies them, and the Bound can see and interact with the restless dead. Each character has one of five Thresholds reflecting how they died, namely the Torn, the Silent, the Prey, the Stricken and the Forgotten, and one of eight archetypes such as Advocate, Gatekeeper or Reaper that describe their attitude to their second life. Rules centre on the power trait Psyche and the energy Plasm, which is collected at haunts and used to fuel powers.
