The Grape Escape is a children's board game from 1992 for two to four players aged five and over, with no designer credited. Each player forms a playing piece by pressing clay into a grape-shaped mold that comes in the box. The pieces then travel around a board that is mostly covered by a hand-cranked mechanism, and the space a piece lands on decides which kind of grape torture follows: the grape may be stomped, rolled, cut or otherwise squashed. A player whose grape is squished must remold it and start again. The game combines racing with roll-and-move turns and take-that interaction, and a session lasts about twenty minutes. It was later reimplemented as the Play-Doh Smashed Potatoes Game.
