Dune (card game)

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Dune is an out-of-print collectible card game set in the universe of Frank Herbert's novels. Players lead minor houses competing for entry into the Landsraad, each sponsored by one of six great factions: House Atreides, the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, House Corrino, the Fremen, House Harkonnen and the Spacing Guild. A player builds an Imperial Deck of a homeworld, allies and holdings, and a House Deck of aides, personnel, equipment, plans and tactics. It first appeared in 1997 as Dune: Eye of the Storm, designed by Owen Seyler for Five Rings Publishing Group and Last Unicorn Games, with a 301-card first set. After Wizards of the Coast bought Five Rings it released further sets and bimonthly chapters, but demanding play and high duplicate rates in boosters contributed to the collapse of the line, and two planned expansions were canceled before printing.
