Samurai Blades is a board game published in 1984 by Standard Games and Publications. It is based on man-to-man skirmishes in feudal Japan, and includes a hint of magic in the form of skulking ninja and monks with wondrous abilities. Warren Spector reviewed it in Space Gamer No. 71, finding the rules skimpy and some scenarios poor, but saying the game captures the flavour of the Toshiro Mifune films, is quick to play and makes death personal and immediate. Jon Conner of Imagine magazine called it a good, well produced and straightforward game in which winning is not easy.
