Gnip Gnop is a two-player plastic table-top game made of a rectangular enclosure with transparent sides and top, holding six plastic balls. A transparent barrier with three holes slightly larger than the balls divides the enclosure into two chambers. A player at each end uses any of a row of three hinged paddles to shoot balls up a slightly inclined plane through the holes into the opponent's zone. Play begins with three balls on each side, and the object is to shoot quickly until all six balls sit in the other player's zone at once. Joseph M. Burck of Marvin Glass and Associates designed and named it for Parker Brothers, which released it in 1971, and Fundex Games later produced a slightly modified version. The name spells Ping-Pong backward.
