Alpha Omega (board game)

Modern Conquest and War Games

Alpha Omega is a science fiction board wargame published by Battleline Publications in 1977, in which human and alien space fleets fight tactical space combat. The game accommodates one to three players, each of whom controls one of three factions: the humans, the alien Rylsh, or the invading Droves. Avalon Hill acquired and republished the game in 1980, and issued a second edition with new artwork in 1982. Its move from Battleline to Avalon Hill mirrors the same acquisition pattern seen in other Battleline wargame designs of the period, in which Avalon Hill absorbed smaller publishers' catalogues and reissued their stronger titles with improved production values.
