Jinsei Game

Race Games

Jinsei Game, whose Japanese title means Life Game, is the Japanese version of the board game known in North America as The Game of Life. Takara released it in 1968, and generations of Japanese children have played it since. Unlike its American counterpart, a player starts in the toddler years and works through elementary school, junior high school and high school before choosing between university and starting a career, so the board follows a whole Japanese upbringing. The game has been revised many times, as the North American version has. It has also been adapted for many video game systems, from the Famicom, Super Famicom and Game Boy to the PlayStation, Nintendo DS, Wii and Nintendo Switch. Most of these are electronic board games, while RPG Jinsei Game plays more like a role-playing game with a post-industrial theme.
