Battling Tops is a children's game invented by Eddy Goldfarb and first manufactured by Ideal in 1968. Two to four players launch spinning tops into a circular concave arena that has four launch positions, and the aim is to have the last top still spinning. Each player winds a string around a top, sets it in a launch position and pulls the attached tab to release it, and the concave surface drives the tops together. The game has similarities to gasing pangkah, a traditional Malay sport.
