Warsaw Rising (game)

Modern Conquest and War Games

Warsaw Rising is a two-player board wargame published by the Scottish company Fusilier Games in 1978 that simulates the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 during World War II. One player commands the German forces and the other the Polish resistance. The hex grid map of Warsaw and its surroundings is played with 120 die-cut counters and a short rulebook, in a single scenario of twelve turns each covering five to six days. There are no zones of control, so Polish units can slip through German lines, and movement is allowed through the city sewers. The Poles win by holding a bridge across the Vistula at the end of turn nine or by holding one of eighteen major buildings on the river's west side when the game ends.
