Unisystem

Role-Playing Games

Unisystem is a generic tabletop role-playing game system created by C.J. Carella and used by a number of published games. It first appeared in Carella's own WitchCraft and Armageddon games from Myrmidion Press, after which Eden Studios took it up under an exclusive licence and also allowed other companies to license it. Eden used it for All Flesh Must Be Eaten, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer role-playing game and a second edition of Conspiracy X, among others. Characters are built by spending points on attributes, skills, qualities and metaphysics, with drawbacks giving extra points. An action succeeds when the relevant attribute, the skill and a ten-sided die roll total nine or more, with higher rolls giving bigger effects. The system has a gritty Classic form and a lighter Cinematic form that adds Drama Points.
