Undead (board game)

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Undead is a board game published by Steve Jackson Games in 1981. It is built around the Dracula story and is played by two or three people, one of whom acts as the moderator. One player takes the role of Dracula, and the others play Professor van Helsing and the other vampire hunters. The hunters must stop Dracula from spawning more vampires by tracking the movement of coffins at night and investigating them by day. Period reviewers were favourable. In The Space Gamer in November 1981, David Dyche called it an excellent value, and White Dwarf gave it eight out of ten, calling it quite enjoyable and best played with a number of people. A retrospective review in Adventurer in 1986 recalled it as absorbing and habit-forming, and Games International in 1990 praised its atmosphere and exciting, reasonably paced play.
