Star Frontiers is a science fiction tabletop role-playing game that TSR produced from 1982 to 1985. It offers a space opera setting on the Frontier Sector, a region near the center of a spiral galaxy where a quirk of physics lets starships jump into a hyperspace realm called the Void once they pass one percent of the speed of light. Four species, the Dralasite, Humans, Vrusk and Yazirian, found this route independently and joined as the United Planetary Federation, and player characters typically work as agents of the Pan Galactic corporation, exploring the sector and resisting incursions by the worm-like Sathar. The rules are percentile-based and use only ten-sided dice, with eight attributes paired into four couples, a primary skill area of Military, Technological or Biosocial, and a point-buy skill system. Unlike TSR's Dungeons & Dragons there are no character levels, and advanced medicine makes characters durable.
