Merchant of Venus is an economic science-fiction board game designed by Richard Hamblen and published in 1988 by The Avalon Hill Game Company, with artwork by Charles Kibler and Regina De Simone. Each player is a space merchant who trades commodities across a map of alien worlds. On a turn a player moves a ship, discovers new alien species, buys and sells goods and upgrades the ship's equipment, and the first to accumulate enough wealth wins. The game supports one to six players, runs for about 180 minutes and is rated for ages twelve and up. Its listed mechanics are commodity speculation, dice rolling and movement points, and a VASSAL module exists for online play.
