Ligretto is a card game for two to twelve players. In its current form it was designed by Michael Michaels and published in 1988 by the German company Rosengarten Spiele; since 2000 it has been published by Schmidt-Spiele of Berlin, and a blue version has been published by Playroom Entertainment in North America and other English-speaking countries since 2009. The objective is to get rid of your cards faster than the other players by discarding them in the middle of the table. The game is based on and similar to Dutch Blitz, and both use specially printed cards while playing almost identically to Nerts, which uses standard playing cards and is in turn based on Canfield, a variant of the classic Klondike solitaire.
