Wings of War is a series of tabletop games about aerial combat in the First World War, designed by Andrea Angiolino and Pier Giorgio Paglia, with the first set, Famous Aces, printed in 2004 and the English edition published by Fantasy Flight Games. Each pilot commands an aeroplane and, every turn, secretly chooses three manoeuvre cards. One card is revealed in each round and decides how the plane moves. After moving, pilots use a ruler to check whether they have a shot at an enemy plane, and hits draw damage cards until enough damage removes the aircraft from play. A reviewer called the system simple yet intense and quick to learn. The games support one-on-one and two-against-one dogfights, and the later expansion Burning Drachens adds solitaire scenarios, with the series also reaching into the Second World War through a separate title.
