The One Ring Roleplaying Game

Role-Playing Games

The One Ring Roleplaying Game is a tabletop role-playing game set in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, in the years between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Francesco Nepitello and Marco Maggi designed it, and Cubicle 7 first published it in 2011 as The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild, centred on the Wild east of the Misty Mountains. A revised single-volume edition followed in 2014 under the shorter title, and after Cubicle 7 stopped publishing it in 2019 the licence passed to Free League Publishing, which released a second edition by the same designers. Play alternates between an Adventuring phase on the road and a Fellowship phase of rest and recovery, and rolls use a twelve-sided Feat die with Gandalf and Eye of Sauron symbols plus six-sided Success dice.
