Connect6 is an abstract strategy game for two players, introduced in 2003 by Professor I-Chen Wu of National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. It is played on the intersections of a Go-like board, with black and white stones, and the first player to get six or more stones in a row, horizontally, vertically or diagonally, wins. The two players, Black and White, alternately place two stones of their own colour on empty intersections, except that Black, who moves first, places only one stone on the opening move. That single-stone opening is a handicap meant to keep the first move from giving too large an advantage. The game is similar to Gomoku, which asks for exactly five in a row, and it is also known by Chinese, Japanese and Korean names meaning six-in-a-row.
