Azhanti High Lightning

Modern Conquest and War Games

Azhanti High Lightning is a science fiction wargame designed by Frank Chadwick and Marc W. Miller and published by Game Designers' Workshop in 1980. It is set aboard the title's namesake vessel, a large military starship within the Traveller role-playing game universe, and simulates close-action combat between individual soldiers and boarders fighting through the ship's compartments and corridors rather than large-scale fleet actions. As a companion product to Traveller, the game let owners of GDW's science fiction line resolve small-unit boarding actions with dedicated deck-plan boards and counters, extending the shared setting into tactical, room-by-room combat distinct from Traveller's own starship and campaign rules.
