Articulate!

Party and Word Games

Articulate! is a team word-describing board game from the British maker Drumond Park, built from an original concept by Andrew Bryceson and made for four to more than twenty players aged twelve and up. On a turn one player describes as many words as possible from a card to their team within a thirty second timer, using speech and gesture but never the word itself, its length, its first letter or what it rhymes with. Words belong to six categories: Object, Nature, Random, Person, Action and World. The team moves its piece around a circular board by the number of words guessed, and a spinner gives occasional bonuses; white spaces trigger a control turn in which all teams race to guess. The game was first released in 1992, has been in the UK adult game top ten each year, and spawned Articulate for Kids and Articulate Your Life.
