3-2-5

Trick-Taking Card Games

3-2-5, also called Teen Do Panch, is a trick-taking card game for three players played in India, Pakistan and Nepal with a pack of thirty cards. The pack is made from a standard deck by removing the twos to sixes and two of the sevens. Each player has a quota of tricks to win, five for the player to the dealer's right who chooses trumps, three for the player on the dealer's left and two for the dealer. Cards are dealt in batches of five, three and two so that trumps are chosen after the first five cards. In later deals, players who beat their quota pull cards from players who fell short, taking one card for each trick over or under. The game is closely related to the 52-card game Sergeant Major.
