Diamant (board game)

Games of Chance

Diamant is a push your luck card game designed by Alan R. Moon and Bruno Faidutti and published by Schmidt Spiele in 2005, in which three to eight players take the roles of adventurers exploring a diamond mine over the course of five separate expeditions. Each round players decide simultaneously whether to keep pressing deeper into the mine to reveal more treasure cards, sharing whatever is found among those still inside, or to turn back and secure their current haul, while hazard cards such as spiders and snakes threaten to force everyone remaining in the mine to lose their unsecured treasure for that expedition. The player holding the most treasure after all five expeditions have concluded wins the game. An English language edition titled Incan Gold was published by Sunriver Games in 2006 using identical rules under a temple exploration theme, with artifact cards and tents replacing the diamond mining chests and equipment of the original.
