Bingo

Bingo is a game of chance in which each player holds a card printed with a grid of numbers, a caller draws numbers at random and announces them, and players mark off matching numbers on their own card, with a winner declared once a player completes a required pattern, most commonly a full row, column or diagonal. The game descends from an Italian lottery game dating to the sixteenth century, which spread across Europe under various names, and it took its now-standard American card format and Bingo name in the early twentieth century in the United States. It remains widely played both as a social pastime and as a fundraising or gambling activity in many countries.
