Owzthat is a dice-based cricket simulation game produced by the British firm William Lindop Ltd, first brought to market in 1924 as a commercial, portable form of the older pastime known as pencil cricket. Players roll a pair of specially marked dice, one recording batting outcomes such as runs scored and the other recording dismissals, to simulate the progress of a cricket innings without needing bat, ball or a physical pitch. A single player can operate both sides of a simulated match, batting and bowling in turn for two imaginary teams, or two or more players can take opposing sides and compete against each other. The game's simplicity and portability helped it endure across generations of cricket enthusiasts as a tabletop way to recreate the sport's statistical rhythm at home.
